The Real Deal

So the big Opening Day of Baseball arrived last Saturday and we had absolutely no idea what we were getting into. All the hub bub about the parade we assumed would go through town??? didn't know if there were floats, if we were suppose to have been pushing tissues all week prior or what. We were told we would need to be at this specific ball park, to get there early, parking is horrible, blah blah....we didn't know the entire community and all their relatives from out of town would be there! Here the entire Little League is lined up with their teams ready to run out on the field.
Oh....so not your traditional parade then? OK.
Everyone else is in the stands ready to cheer and listen for their names to be called out as a raffle winner, and really just witness how our community rallies around these kids and sponsors these teams, etc. So cool!! It was so fun to be a part of it and a big realization that I am the proud parent of a boy that is old enough to partake in this thing called REAL baseball! no more little stuff!
thank goodness!

Sawyer and his teammates in line before the "parade" started.

So one at a time they announce the teams, starting with the Major, then Minor on down to the t-ball. So the boys run out with their coaches, the BIG boys (high schoolers) high five them all as they run through, and everyone cheers for them. WOO WOO!!
I thought it was probably like when as a little girl I saw a highschool girl in a cheerleader outfit and she said "hi". I'm thinking that was like times 100 for these boys!
Poor little man was just freezing that morning even all bundled up!
We had pictures at noon and then back for the first game at 3pm.
... and so here is Landon a little more comfortable later. He's eating grilled pizzas from the concessions. Yes, I said grilled, right there in front of us, made to order, of course! CA thing?
They also serve gelato and all the regular gross stuff you normally see.
Go #11!
Short stop is where Coach likes to put him.
And that is fine by him!
Like father, like son. We love this game!
Proud moment telling his little bro his amazing athletic abilities
out there just landed them a WIN!! ( OK, maybe a few others helped)
D was just really into that long stick he found.
WARNING: Randomness here.....
A typical Sunday afternoon...note the socks.
This is "Wonder- D".
D is for the dolphins on his undies, of course!

You better watch out for that cheerleader. Sawyer might just steal her heart without even meaning to;)
